At Equity1821 we C.A.R.E. In 2021, we asked the Black Business Community about their banking business needs and wants, which resulted in the creation of Equity1821. We are asking again to understand how to better serve Black businesses. Equity1821 is excited to offer a $5,000 grant to a small, black-owned business (MBE). To participate, eligible businesses must complete a survey created and owned by Black Onyx Management. We conduct this survey biennially to support improvements in lending to Black businesses.

Eligibility:

• The grant is open to small, black-owned businesses in the state of Indiana.
• You must be a certified MBE Black-Owned Business by the City of Indianapolis or the State of Indiana.
• To be eligible for the grant, businesses must complete the Biennial Black Business Lending Survey.
• The survey must be completed in full and submitted by the deadline to be considered.

How to Enter:

• All MBE Black-Owned Businesses certified as of May 17, 2023 by the City of Indianapolis or the State of Indiana will receive an email from SurveyMonkey with the Biennial Black Business Lending Survey
• To enter, complete the survey on or before June 19, 2023.
• Only one entry per business is allowed.
• If you are a MBE Certified Black-Owned Business and did not receive the email, please contact info@equity1821.org with documentation of your certification.

Selection of Winner:

• The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received.
• The winner will be notified via email and/or phone within 10 days of the selection.
• The winner must respond within 7 days of being notified to claim the grant. If no response is received within this timeframe, another winner will be selected.

The grant is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The grant recipient is solely responsible for any taxes or fees associated with the grant. By accepting the grant, the recipient agrees to allow Black Onyx Management to use their business name and likeness for promotional purposes. Black Onyx Management reserves the right to disqualify any entry for any reason, including but not limited to incomplete or inaccurate survey responses. Black Onyx Management reserves the right to modify or cancel this giveaway at any time, for any reason. This giveaway is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
